Heroic Icons

I should've known but I never really thought about false heros, or trying to make someone heroic through art. When Artists/ graphic designs create images or sculptures heroic it is so easy persuade viewers to believe that the person they are trying to make heroic is a hero. For example this image of a dictator (Kim Jungil) of North Korea is posing as if he is a god. There are ridiculous titles of this dictator. The Sun of the 21st Century, the Eternal Sun, the Guardian Deity of the Planet, the Sun of Socialism, and the Ever-Victorious General. I feel as this image have been exaggerated a lot. First of all, his is a short man and but he is viewed here as a strong and tall man. He is not muscular in real life at all. I very much dislike the fact that some artist create heroic images for non heroic people.

After readying this article made me think about what about true heros? Who even sacrifice their lives? I take a lot of interest in fallen heros who is not there to pose of what kind of heroic action they did. I much agree with what Elbert Huggard said, "The heroic man does not pose; he leave that for the man who wishes to be thought heroic."

After reading the article and researches I am more interested in fallen solders and military heros. Although some true heros are buried underground, I would like to make art for them... Heros don't have to be exaggerated in any different forms to make them a hero they are already a hero for their sacrificial action.
